We are proud to be exclusively partnering with our client for the recruitment of a Business Development Manager in Melbourne.

Our client is a leading single origin and blended tea wholesaler with an amazing flagship venue in the inner city of Melbourne, supplying their specialty products to some of the leading cafes, restaurants, hotels and specialty distributors across the country.

Our client practices ethical sourcing from origin and only work with fresh and seasonal teas. As importantly, our client provides 1st class customer service and support to their business partners.

The Role:

This is a field-based position covering the Melbourne CBD/metro region.

The focus of this role is to grow your portfolio by acquiring new business through multiple channels (cafe franchise, hotels, independent cafes/restaurants, and specialty coffee roasters). This role is 80% new business acquisition with 20% existing account management on a cycle. Another exciting focus of this role is the opportunity to showcase the range of products to potential customers through presentations, knowledge sharing and tasting sessions.

This role is autonomous; however, you will have a customer support and service team that will back you all the way to ensure your success in this position.

A solid network and understanding of the hospitality market from your current or previous roles will give you a good head-start in succeeding in this position. This role requires someone who is motivated to get out there and win business, is self-driven, is a relationship builder, and knows how to win new customers over.

Related industry experience is a must-have for this role. So, we’d love to start a conversation with candidates from the coffee and milk supplier industry, and/or if you’re already selling a product into the hospitality market.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
